EP Review: 'Roll Your Own Problems' by Old Fox Road

Title:  Roll Your Own Problems (BandCamp)
Artist:  Old Fox Road (Facebook, Twitter, YouTubeBandCamp, Spotify)

On their latest EP Roll Your Own Problems, Champaign, IL's Old Fox Road delivers four catchy, raw, and ridiculously good folk punk numbers.  The EP opens with studio banter into the title track, perfectly setting the stage for the rest of the record.  The four songs are fun and gruffly melodic but drive by an ease that completely lacks any sense of urgency.  The laid back nature of the record is only solidified by the band's banter that follows each song making this almost feel like a live show.  Whether Old Fox Road is playing fully plugged in and electric pop punk (like on 2016's excellent Moving Out) or stripped down acoustic folk punk, as is the case here, members Dylan Chupp, Dylan Decker, and Brent Deboard have proven yet again to be expert craftsmen of songs with an abundance of potential.
