Album Review: 'Dead Skin' by The Feels

Title:  Dead Skin (BandCamp)
Artist:  The Feels (Facebook, BandCamp)

The Feels’ debut Dead Skin is eight songs of emo-y indie pop punk rock goodness.  The band, brainchild of former Candy Hearts and The Unlovables member Christian Stefos Migliorese, seamlessly flows through layers of hooks and melodies, at times driven by loud guitars (“Dumb or 21” and “Maybe”), at other times in quiet ballads (“When Things Were Good”), and at times in power pop perfection (“I-95 (In Another Life)”).  The Feels’ sound is equal parts The Rentals, The All-American Rejects, and The Lemonheads resulting in a concoction that should be most satisfying to fans of not only the aforementioned acts but of indie pop, power pop, and pop punk in general.
