EP Review: Roll The Tanks

Title:  Roll The Tanks (Amazon, iTunes, Big Cartel)
Artist: Roll The Tanks (Official, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, Last.fm)

Roll The Tanks is an ambitious power pop band overflowing with energy and ‘80s-esque hooks and choruses.  The four song self-titled EP opens with the extremely catchy “Toeing the Line” a song with a hook that brings images of new wave greats like Dexys Midnight Runners and The Psychedelic Furs.  “Waiting On A Storm” cranks things up with a chorus that screams anthem while “Goodnight Jimmy Lee” sounds like The Buggles, had The Buffles actually written good songs.  The EP closes with almost ballad “Hornet,” which is honestly the only thing on this EP that doesn’t work.  Overall Roll The Tanks have put together a great little power pop EP.
