Album Review: Don’t Let Me Lose Ya

Of all of the punk rockers to take up the acoustic guitar over the past decade, Kevin Seconds has been the best at completely immersing himself in traditional folk music.  Sure the punk attitude is present, but this is pure folk music, much closer to Woody Guthrie than any other folk punk artist that I have heard.  That pure folk nature shines crystal clear on Seconds’ fifth solo full-length record Don’t Let Me Lose Ya.  From start to finish this is an excellent record of heartfelt and soft-spoken folk tunes.  Kevin Seconds is a music veteran and that experience on top of his natural songwriting ability has been channeled into this tremendous album.
