EP Review: Higley

Title: Higley (BandCamp)
Artist:  Higley (BandCamp)

Punk super-group Higley's debut isn't really a proper release seeing as it is two songs available on BandCamp but they both have the same cover art and were released at the same time so I'm going to treat them as one EP.  There's really no way to put this other than this is some of the best music I have heard in years!  "That's Not Me" is a pop punk anthem about growing up and is easily, EASILY the best song of 2012.  Seriously this song is so amazingly good it should be illegal.  "4 Bit Man" is another pop punk masterpiece but is shorter and more urgent than "That's Not Me."  It's no surprise that these songs are this unbelievably good considering who is in this band (Bill Stevenson of ALL, Descendents, Black Flag, and Only Crime fame and Kristopher Roe of The Ataris).  So far there isn't much information out about this new project and any potential future releases.  I sincerely hope that Higley continues to record and release more material because they could easily be the best band of the decade.
