EP Review: How Strange the Night
Title: How
Strange the Night (BandCamp)
Tulsa , OK ’s
Foreign Home’s debut mini-album, How
Strange the Night, is a collection of seven earnest post punk / indie rock
tunes. With a sound that could be best
described as a melding of Joy Division and Archers of Loaf, Foreign Home tackle
a combination of styles that you don’t often hear. The EP opens with the most Joy Division-y
track of the bunch “Catholic Guilt,” a dark and somber song that sets the stage
for what is to come. How Strange the Night is a dark and
moody EP that beautifully flows from one song to the next. Foreign Home is a talented band, not afraid to
take their music in a unique direction and How
Strange the Night is a strong debut.
