Album Review: How Long

Title:  How Long (BandCamp, iTunes)
Artist:  The Tower and The Fool (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, BandCamp, Last.fm)

The Tower and The Fool’s full-lrngth debut How Long is a dark, moody, and somber mix of Americana, power pop, and emo (think Wilco meets Gin Blossoms meets Dashboard Confessional).  The songs are layered with subtle guitar work, elegant piano and organ playing, and passionately sad vocals.  In fact what makes this record work is the very controlled way in which it is played.  These songs need to be mellow and the band never just lets go, keeping everything measured with the perfect amount of playing to hit the desired emotional level and not one note more.  The Tower and The Fool is obviously a very talented and passionate band with a bright future ahead of them.
