EP Review: Things Get Shaky

Title:  Things Get Shaky (Deep Elm Records, Deep Elm Digital, Amazon, iTunes, CD Universe)
Artist:  Keystone Kids (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Last.fm)

Hailing from Lehigh Valley, PA, Keystone Kids is the collaboration of pianist Carly Comando and Ryan O’Donnell of Yo Man Go.  Their debut EP Things Get Shaky is a lush piece of indie pop, driven by Comando’s piano playing and beautiful voice.  O’Donnell gets his turn at the mic, but it’s Comando’s supple and sweet vocals that really make this EP work.  The EP opens with its strongest track, “Crumble,” a dizzily fun pop ditty driven by a smooth melody.  The rest of Things Get Shaky follows essentially this same model of piano driven pop making an enjoyable debut from a band that certainly show a lot of promise.
