EP Review: Summer Dresses

Title:  Summer Dresses (BandCamp)
Artist:  R.M. Hendrix (Official, Facebook, Twitter, MySpaceBandCamp, SoundCloud, Last.fm)

Boston’s R.M. Hendrix play dreamy indie pop that mixes everything from The Jesus & Mary Chain to My Bloody Valentine to The Lightening Seeds to shoegazer outfits like Chapterhouse and The Dylans.  The EP’s title track is nothing short of fuzzy, dreamy pop brilliance.  The song is upbeat and catchy and filed with images of sun and surf.  The only downside to this EP is that it is merely a single and the second track is a remix (albeit a good one) of “Summer Dresses.”  That having been said, this is easily one of the best songs of 2012 and if there was any justice in the world, would be a huge summer hit.  I really can’t wait to see what these guys come up with next!
