EP Review: Faded

Title:  Faded (BandCamp)
Artist:  Man The Change (Official, Facebook, Twitter, BandCamp)

Man The Change is a melodic post hardcore band from Brooklyn, NY.  The band’s latest EP, Faded, is three songs that pack a punch, mixing elements of early Fugazi, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Jawbreaker.  The EP opens with “Lockjaw vs. Razor Ramon” perfectly setting the stage for the rest of Faded with its razor sharp guitar and drums.  “Rapaport” is next with its mid-tempo charge fueling the song with the sound of desperation.  The EP closes with “Ninety Nine” which is the record’s poppiest song with its strong Samiam-esque hook.

Man The Change have the melodic post hardcore style down pat and add a new voice to the sub-genre.  This is certainly a band to watch and Faded is a must for fans of this style of punk rock.

Thanks to Dying Scene for the find.
