Album Review: Royal Headache

Title:  Royal Headache (Amazon, iTunes)
Artist:  Royal Headache (Facebook, MySpace, Last.fm)

Royal Headache is a lo-fi garage rock, power pop, pop punk band from Australia that has put together a stellar self-titled record.  The album opens with the ridiculously infectious “Never Again” setting the stage perfectly for the romp that is forthcoming.  This band is one part Guided By Voices, one part The Jam, one part Ramones, and one part Wilson Pickett (especially on the track “Surprise”—see video below).  Another great song on the record is the incredibly fun “Girls” but honestly the entire album kicks complete and total ass.  This is easily one of the best records of the year!
