EP Review: Joyride

Title:  Joyride (BandCamp)
Artist:  Broadcaster (BandCamp, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr)

Wow.  Just…wow.  That is my first reaction to Broadcaster’s latest EP Joyride.  Simply put, this four-song EP is f-ing brilliant.  Broadcaster started out innocently enough as a ‘90s cover band but found that they could write some pretty good songs together.  The trio plays an excellent mix of power pop, indie rock, and punk and has been compared to the likes of The Lemonheads, Jawbreaker, Everclear, Smoking Popes, The Get-Up Kids, and The Thermals.  I’d add to that list Sugar, Great Cynics, Buffalo Tom, Cheap Girls, and Candy Hearts.  Honest to goodness, if you are a fan of any of these bands you really need to download Joyride.  The songs are ridiculously fun and catchy with a tremendous sense what makes great pop rock music.  I’m almost at a loss for words because I’m not sure what else to say; this is an unbelievably amazing EP and that is that.  Just do yourself a favor and go download it right now.  Go on.  You’ll thank me later.
