CD Review: Another Way [Deluxe Edition]

Title:  Another Way [Deluxe Edition] (Amazon, iTunes, Interpunk, AllMusic)
Artist:  Teenage Bottlerocket (Official, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Last.fm, Fat Wreck Chords, Wikipedia)

Red Scare Records has reissued Teenage Bottlerocket’s debut album in a deluxe edition that includes tracks from a couple of early 7 inch records.  For the most part this is typical TBR, the only real difference is that this material was recorded as a trio and lacked the dueling lead vocals that have come to define this band’s sound.  In a lot of ways this record sounds like the The Riverdales (the Dan Vapid songs).

While this is a fun record and shows the tremendous potential that this band has (and has since proven on their following albums), the sound on Another Way is lacking the fullness that the second guitar and vocalist has brought to their sound.  Still this is a must for any TBR fan and a CD well worth picking up for any serious fan of great pop punk.
