ARGH! More Great Bands Not Playing OKC

Both The Thermals and Me First & the Gimme Gimmes are going on tour and neither are making stops in OK (see their tour schedules here and here). Now in Me First & the Gimme Gimmes defense it does seem that their tous is primarily on the east coast, but The Thermal will be playing two shows in Texas before heading to Colorado. And the real kicker with that is that there is a four day break in shows in between the shows in Dallas and Denver. There is no reason why they couldn’t stop in OKC. They have the time on their schedule, so why aren’t they? There are plenty of venues in the city that could support this show and plenty of fans that would go see it (and I’m sure that The Spy would promote the heck out of the gig). So what’s the deal? Why do we get so skipped over by bands on the road?
