The Essential Hagfish

Hagfish was (and sometimes still is) a pop punk band from Dallas, TX. In their all-too-short career, the band put out three studio albums, at least two seven inch records, a live album, and a b-sides collection (sadly I do not have all of their releases, but I’m close). The band reunites ever so often for a tour or two and then goes back into an extended hiatus. Since the break up, guitarist and bassist brothers Zach and Doni Blair have gone on to play in Armstrong and Only Crime (Zach also plays in Rise Against), just to name a few. One of the challenges in making this list is the half of the band’s second album, …Rocks Your Lame Ass, are songs that were originally from their debut album Buick Men. For the most part, I prefer the versions from Buick Men (I heard them first and they are very stripped down, which I like; also the entire album is a classic and deserves to be heard) so I will primarily be including the version from that album on this list. A few songs will be duplicated because they were either singles from …Rocks Your Lame Ass or they were different enough that I though they deserved inclusion.
